Stewards For A Season

Here is the struggle with ownership. What I own, I have a responsibility to protect. That’s why we get anxious about money, defensive about our schedules, territorial about our abilities and it is all MOST CLEAR when the plan changes or doesn’t go the way I want it!  We quickly say things like, “I just don’t have time to do that” or “When things settle down” or “Once I feel more secure.” Friends, those are ownership words. The parable in Matthew 25 is all about ownership – His ownership of it all. And before we get to the issue of generosity or stewardship, God makes it clear, He owns it all.  So if God owns it all, what is our responsibility. It is that Biblical word, stewardship.
