Worship & Music Ministry

The honor and joy of worshiping Jesus Christ, our Lord, is the heart of our music ministry. We want to lead others to the throne-room of Christ through His worship, both individually and as a congregation.

Each week, members of First Baptist Madison come together to worship and experience God as a body of believers. We do so in celebrative, energetic services that blend traditional hymns, modern hymns and praise music, while employing many different instruments to accompany our musical offerings of worship.

Members of the music ministry differ in gifts and abilities; yet, we gather with a heart of humble praise. Our ages, life experiences, and preferences vary; however, our hearts are unified in our praise of God, Jesus Christ and their love story of redeeming love. We would love to have you be a part of our music ministry family. In fact, our motto is “More than music, we’re a family.”

Celebration Choir

If you have a passion for worship and a desire to help lead the church vocally in praise...join the First Baptist Madison Celebration Choir!

As a Celebration Choir member, you enjoy the opportunity to be part of one of our most dynamic ministries at First Baptist Madison. A lifestyle of worship is exemplified as the Celebration Choir takes the lead in praise within our church family! We are seeking all those who have a heart for worship to come alongside us in the Celebration Choir.

Rehearsals

Celebration Choir rehearsals at First Baptist Madison are more than learning notes on a page. These times are full of energy and excitement as we prepare both spiritually and musically to be our best! Weekly Celebration Choir rehearsals are Wednesday nights at 6:00-7:30 pm in the Choir Suite. Come by and see if the Celebration Choir is where God is leading you!

Orchestra rehearsals at First Baptist Madison are full of energy and excitement as we prepare both spiritually and musically to be our best! Rehearsals are Wednesday nights at 6:00 pm and Sunday mornings at 8:00 am in the Worship Center. Contact the Worship and Music Office to learn more about this wonderful leadership role.

[email protected] Worship Choir & Preschool Choirs

Babies instinctively adore those who protect and take care of them. It is our job to introduce them to the One who loves and protects them the most ... Jesus.

A child grabs on to songs of praise with such joyful innocence. This is not surprising, because we were made to praise! Learning how to give praise through song is a fantastic gift. Lifelong worship begins as a child. Please help us ensure that we have a future generation of worshippers. We have just the right place for your child to experience the joy of praising the Lord.

Preschool choirs: Ages 3, 4-5; Children’s choir: Grades 1-5

Senior Adult Choir

The Voices of Joy Senior Adult Choir, led by Judy Hutchinson and accompanied by Carol Durham, is a group dedicated to spreading joy and uplifting spirits through their music. Meeting every Wednesday from 11:00am to 12:00pm in Room 8221 of the FLC, the choir is open to all senior adults who wish to join. Not only do they gather to rehearse and perfect their craft, but they also take their talents to nursing and retirement homes to bring music and joy to those who may not have the opportunity to attend a concert. The choir also participates in a State Senior Adult Choir Festival annually, where they have the opportunity to showcase their talents and be judged among other senior adult choirs.
