If you were to unexpectedly die today, do you really know that you would
go to Heaven? If you were standing at the Gates of Heaven and God asked
you "Why should I let you in?" Would you know what to say? Jesus said,
"I am the Way, the Truth and the Life. No one
comes to the Father except through me. If you really knew me, you would
know my Father as well." John 14:6-7. Jesus is not one way of
many to God, but the only way. "For God loved
the world so much that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes
in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send
His Son to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him."
John 3:16-17. You can accept Jesus Christ right now. He will meet you
where you are. If you would like to ask Jesus into your heart, pray
this Prayer of Salvation.
"Lord Jesus,
I need you. Thank you for loving me and thank you for dying on the
cross for my sins. I open the door to my life and receive you as my
Savior and Lord. Thank you for forgiving my sins and giving me eternal
life. Take control of the throne of my life. Make me the kind of person
you want me to be."
Did you receive
Jesus Christ into your life? If you did, Welcome to the family! Your
life is just beginning! Thank God daily that Christ is in your life
and will never leave you (Hebrews 13:5)! The moment you received Christ
by faith, many things happened including:
- Christ came
into your life (Revelation 3:20 & Colossians 1:27)
- Your sins were
forgiven (Colossians 1:14)
- You became a
child of God (John 1:12)
- You received
eternal life (John 5:24)
- You began the
great adventure for which God created you (John 10:10, II Corinthians
5:17, and I. Thessalonians 5:18).
This can be a very
emotional time for you. But, do not depend on Feelings. The promise
of God's Word (the Bible) - NOT our feelings - is our authority. The
Christian lives by faith (trust) in the trustworthiness of God Himself
and His Word. Place your faith (trust) in God and His promises.
What do I do now
that I am a Christian?
- Have a daily
prayer time with God (John 15:7)
- Get a Bible and
read it daily. Begin with the Gospel of John, then 1 John.
- Obey God moment
by moment (John 14:21).
- Witness for Christ
by your life and your words. in other words, tell others about Jesus
and when you live for Christ, others will see the difference in your
life (Matthew 4:19, John 15:8).
- Trust God with
every detail of your life and for every need (I. Peter 5:7).
- Allow the Holy
Spirit to guide, control and empower your daily life and witness (Galatians
5:16 - 17, Acts 1:8).
- Go to Church
- find a church that believes and preaches from the Bible (A Bible
believing church). If you do not belong to a church, take the initiative.
Call the pastor of a nearby church where Christ is honored and His
word (the Bible) is preached and make plans to attend this Sunday
and regularly.
